Re: Is wind the future energy source for the UK?

If all the “ wind “ that has been generated in discussing the corona virus has been converted to power there would be no need for any other form of energy . ;)

Re: UK banks to close many ex-pats accounts after Brexit.

Ian , I agree with happy in Cyprus that your comments are an excellent insight into the potential problems of banking in the future. Let’s hope the U.K. and EU. come to an agreement over the banking sector so that this problem may be averted. Being cynical I wonder whether the banks are taking the o...

Re: Britain remains in Category B

I used to think there were more “ celebrities “ than ordinary people but I am now beginning to think there are more corona virus experts than ordinary people. The latest bit of useless information I have received is that if you die of the flu virus but it is subsequently found that you have the coro...

Re: Britain remains in Category B

Taking an average over the last 5 years , 17000 people die a year from flu in the U.K. , an average of 46 a day.

Re: Britain remains in Category B

Are we at the point where the corona virus should be treated and accepted as another virus similar to the flu virus ? The number of deaths in the U.K. now are in the 20’s and is it losing its strength as it is passed on ? As an example Prostate cancer has an average of 32 deaths a day and I am sure ...

Flights into Paphos today

I notice there are 18 flights from the U.K. into Paphos today , where are all these people managing to get a virus test ? I certainly struggled to find somewhere a few weeks ago and in the end did not come out. The testing situation is now even worse so where are these individuals finding tests. Terry

Re: So easy top up

I had this problem a couple of weeks and Cyta were very helpful. Go to their website and explain the situation and they will send you instructions on how to top up your phone . This involves using JCC and your debit or credit card and is straightforward. I have to say cyta were quick to respond and ...

Re: COVID TEST AT CYPRUS AIRPORT

Thank you for the Comments , it is frustrating in the sense I have my own home in Cyprus and do not feel that I pose the same kind of threat as a holidaymaker in a hotel , but they are the rules and you just have to get on with it.

Re: COVID TEST AT CYPRUS AIRPORT

I posed the question about NHS testing as it was relevant to my own situation. I should be on a flight from Bristol to Paphos this morning but cancelled it due to virus testing . If I were to have used the NHS testing facilities the closest one is over 20 miles away and there is no guarantee I would...

Re: COVID TEST AT CYPRUS AIRPORT

I am assuming that if you go along to a NHS test you have to declare that you think you have coronavirus symptoms not that you are going on holiday and not prepared to pay for a test ?

Re: Corona virus categories.

I assume then that the reproduction figures are higher in Austria than the UK at the moment . Perhaps Cyprus will do an update in the next few days in any change in categories.

Corona virus categories.

The UK has placed quarantine restrictions on Austria as the situation their is much worse than the United Kingdom. Cyprus rates Austria as a category A country yet the U.K. is rated category B . Does that not seem to be an a anomaly?

Exeter is my local airport , there are currently about three flights a day and no international ones when I last looked . It has been devastated by the loss of Flybe .

Re: Latest Official details on categories A, B and C and required precautions

I have just cancelled my easyJet flight from Bristol for the end this month , a decision had to be made 14 days before to be able to change the flight free of charge. Have left the return Flight unchanged for the moment just in case The UK Changes to category A in early September. It is frustrating ...
