A beautiful area ruined by man. When we visited in 2004 it wasn't pleasant, more like a hippy commune.

Our cats used to open our screens to get out, they made a real mess of them. I have never heard of pet proof screens, I can't see how screens could be made 'pet proof'. If they are scratching them to get out, maybe install a cat flap, we did.

You are correct, a flag is a physical collection of coloured thread, but, it is a Standard which represents a country. It should never be interfered with, no matter what our history is.

I fail to see how the occupation of one country, by another country, is relevant in this thread.

Playing a game is, I think, a tad different than working all your life, for the paltry financial reward, that UK pensioners receive. Pensioners rely on that income to live, without the ability to increase that income, in most cases. Sportsmen and women are not in the same situation. Football players...

It appears that the part of my pension which I now receive, that part which I inherited from my late husband, is not subject to the rise.

That said, after consulting the DWP website, it's all so confusing, I gave up.

It won't be 8.5% of my total pension.

Last year I asked the DWP why the increase wasn't the actual percentage of my pension, they told me that only part of my pension was included in the increase, so what looks okay on paper, isn't actually, what some of us will in fact receive.

Well for one, I object to the mindless alterations to the British or English Flag. This is not a triviality to me, or quite a few others I see.

What may I ask, Bindi, are the real horrors in the UK now? (in your opinion).

Has anyone, who is in receipt of a UK state pension, received notification of their 24-25 increase?

I'm sure that in past years, I have been notified before now, but nothing to date.
